Welcome to Caring4Cal, a pioneering initiative brought to you by the California Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI). Our mission is to expand, enhance and strengthen the crucial home- and community-based services (HCBS) workforce through training of current care providers and the recruiting of new providers through free training and personal coaching.

The best part is that care providers can get paid up to $2,750  to take our free and comprehensive courses.

What Does Caring4Cal Offer In-Home Care Providers?

Research has shown that patients that receive in-home or community-based care have better health outcomes than those in institutional care. But with the increasing needs of an aging and diversifying population, there are not enough care providers, and it’s more critical than ever to support and build up California’s licensed and certified HCBS provider base.

To grow this crucial HCBS workforce in California, we’ve designed Caring4Cal.org, where you can find all the information you need about our program, including:

• Course Listings: Our easy to search catalog has hundreds of free courses catering to all levels of expertise and topics of interest— from healthcare fundamentals to the latest advances in home- and community-based care. Courses are available in-person and online, and in a variety of languages.
• Personalized Coaching: We offer one-on-one coaching sessions at no cost. Our experienced coaches will help care providers understand their career goals, develop a customized action plan to reach those goals, and provide ongoing support and encouragement to stay on track.
• Financial Incentives: There are up to $2,750 in financial incentives available for eligible providers!
